1. The drill bit status needs to be checked and the worn parts need to be marked
When we are grinding alloy drill bits, we must first check the wear degree and wear status of the drill bit, observe whether the drill bit will bend, whether there are gaps on the blade edge, and whether it is intact. For some parts with more serious wear, we can focus on grinding during the grinding process to improve efficiency.
2. Flatten the blade edge against the wheel surface, and swing it up and down to sharpen it
The second step is to align the grinding wheel and the drill bit so that the drill bit is close to the grinding wheel in the horizontal direction, but remember that it cannot be directly contacted, and the "edge angle" between the drill bit axis and the grinding wheel surface should be about 60 degrees. After finding the correct position, we gently touch the grinding wheel, grind a small part first, observe the balance of the spark, and adjust the pressure as needed. During this grinding process, remember to swing up and down instead of rotating the drill bit. Fix the drill bit with one hand and hold the tail of the drill bit with the other hand to swing up and down for grinding. During this process, observe the blades on both sides of the drill bit. In the early stage, measure with a ruler. The blade length is consistent. When we are proficient, the angle between the center line of the wood and the blade is enough. We can use a professional slotted grinding machine to grind the horizontal blade perpendicular to the center line of the drill bit into a sharp point to prevent the contact surface between the drill bit and the processed parts from being too large in the later stage.
3. Use it after careful inspection, and reduce loss through daily maintenance. The next step is to check the grinding of the alloy drill bit. The cut separation can be operated experimentally. When rotating, the drill bit is stable and has little assistance, and the iron chips coming out are also formed, then the drill bit has been ground. In the later stage, we should pay attention to protecting the drill bit during use, and do daily maintenance work to reduce consumption.
